Dr. Suihkonen is a board certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2006. Following graduation, Dr. Suihkonen commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base San Antonio, TX. He completed a 2-year AEGD residency during that time. It was during his training that he found a passion for oral surgery and the large impact on patient quality of life it would provide. He spent the next three years stationed overseas at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. He then completed his specialty training at Travis Air Force Base, California, completing a four-year Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at David Grant Medical Center, graduating in 2018. Dr. Suihkonen was then stationed at Keesler Air Force Base Biloxi, Mississippi for five years training dental residents as an assistant professor of oral surgery at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) as well as providing surgical care to patients. Most recently he and his family were restationed to Wright Patterson Air Force Base where he continues to work as a staff oral surgeon, seeing his own patients, and staffing dental residents.
Dr. Suihkonen enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two boys outdoors playing sports, traveling, hunting and fishing.
