Dr. Grace Ann Gwin

Endodontist, Specialist

Dr. Gwin is a highly trained endodontist with a distinguished background in military dentistry, advanced education, and a passion for providing expert root canal care.

Dr. Gwin grew up in North Carolina, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Biophysics from Duke University. She then went on to earn her D.D.S. with Distinction in Community Service from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, on a full scholarship through the Air Force Health Professions Scholarship Program. After dental school, she entered active-duty service and graduated from an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at Eglin AFB, FL. During the COVID-19 pandemic, though routine dental visits came to a halt, Dr. Gwin witnessed endodontists continuing to provide emergency relief for patients in pain and knew that she wanted to help in the same way. She served as a general dentist for several years at Scott AFB, IL, before moving to San Antonio to complete her endodontics residency at Lackland AFB, TX.

Currently, Dr. Gwin is the Chief Endodontist in the 88th Dental Squadron at Wright-Patterson AFB, where she performs root canal therapy for the active-duty population and serves as an Assistant Professor in the AEGD residency program, training 6-8 new residents each year.

Outside of work, Dr. Gwin enjoys traveling, baking, music, and spending time with her husband Alex and their sweet pup Riley.
